NIC Full form: National Informatics Center
The full form of NIC is the National Center for Informatics. NIC is an apex organization operating primarily in the information technology, communication technology, and computer services sector. It has its branches located in all the districts of all the states of India. Ajay Kumar is the current CEO of NIC.
Founded in 1976 and based in New Delhi, NIC is a specialized organization to provide satisfactory telecommunication services throughout India. The Department of Electronics and Information Technology is the parent organization of NIC. NIC works under the supervision of the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology.
Almost all websites related to Indian government operations and services are designed, created and maintained by NIC. NIC is the lead actor and active authority to initiate the e-governance system process in India. This service was designed by NIC so that there can be more transparency and scope of development in government services.
To ensure this and spread greater awareness of e-government, NIC publishes an informative quarterly titled Informatics. Internet services, Internet security, creation and development of web-based services, computer networks, computer-related services, domain name registration assistance for government-related departments, CAD services (Aided Design Per Computer) – These are some of the NIC’s highlights.
Full Form of NIC: National Industrial Classification
NIC Full Form is the National Industrial Classification. NIC is a standard coding system, which is used to classify various industrial sectors in India and by assigning unique codes to each of the classified areas. NIC plays a critical and crucial role in terms of maintaining data and statistics for different industrial sectors. First introduced in 1962, the NIC system and methodology (known as Standard Industry Classification until 1970) is controlled by the Indian Ministry of Statistics and Program Implementation.
The Central Statistical Organization (CSO) works under the respective ministerial department, and the industry wing of this organization is the nodal authority for determining, analyzing and publishing NICs in India. NIC helps the government to use collected statistical and classification data in national economic policy and also in the analysis and determination of international comparison.
NIC is derived from data collected through surveys of people related to various industrial sectors and consumers. These surveys are conducted by survey panels that include specialists and experts from the industrial field. Data is collected on the basis of responses given to the standard questionnaire. Statistical information is scrutinized, analyzed, and then sorted. To date, there are six standard industry classifications which are IAS-62, IAS-70, IAS-87, IAS-98, IAS-2004 and the last one is IAS-2008.
NIC full form: network interface card
The full form of NIC refers to the network interface card. NIC is an effective hardware device that helps a computer connect to a computer network. It is also known as a network interface controller. Most modern computers have this card or circuit board installed inside them.
This system uses a specific physical layer and certain standard data link layers such as Token Ring, Fiber Channel, Ethernet and Wi-Fi. NICs can connect a computer to the network in both ways, via cables or wirelessly. NICs are used to create a dedicated, full-time connection between the computer and the network. In most cases, this network is a LAN (local area network).
The connection procedure includes a specific LAN transmission technology. Modern NICs offer advanced features and services. These cards can perform multiple transmission queues and receive queues, offer DMA interface or interrupt services to related host processors, partition multiple logical interfaces, process traffic on the network controller.
The NIIC uses both hardware and software-based related interrupt distributions. RSS (Receive Side Scaling), RPS 9 Receive Packet Direction), and RFS (Receive Flow Direction) are some of those distribution implementations. Today, most NICs use Ethernet technology.
